Issho Bronze Sweet Potato Shochu
This is a bottle that pursues new possibilities in shochu production. In the process of proposing shochu with soda as an aperitif, they suppressed the normal smell and bitterness derived from the ingredients that appear when the shochu is served with soda, and created a shochu with a pleasant citrus flavour and a refreshing sweetness in the aftertaste. The challenge began in 2009, and the yeast used was the Varvarian Weizen yeast, a beer yeast. To differentiate it from Issho 'Silver', which has the same brand name, the letters printed on the bottle are bronze in colour, which is why it is generally called 'Issho Bronze’. The sweet potatoes used as raw materials are carefully processed one by one, and after being distilled by a traditional method, they manufacture Shochu that is easy to drink
This shochu explores new possibilities in shochu making. It has a clean, refreshing taste, with a gentle citrus aroma that lingers in the nasal passages, followed by a long-lasting, crisp sweetness of sweet potato.

Shochu is a “living thing” ...
Komaki Joryujo which is located in the northwestern part of the prefecture in Satsuma city, was established in 1909. It is surrounded by nature including mountain ranges such as Mount Shibi and the beautiful Sendai River. Despite being exposed to water damage on three occasions due to flooding, they have made a remarkable comeback each time due to the support of those around them.
Currently, the distillery is run by the older brother Kazunori and his brother Isekichi who are president and head distiller respectively. Their signature label is “Issho” which was created in commemoration of the centennial celebration in 2009, “Isekichi Don” named after the founder and second generation chairman, and “Komaki” which is brewed in urns using traditional methods. “Issho” takes letters from the brother’s names and also has the meaning of “everlasting relationships”. “Issho” has a stylish label and bottle adorned with a motif of the family crest.
