Minimum age
The legal drinking age in Ontario is 19 years old. You must be at least 19 years of age to create an account, browse member-only content, or place an order on Nomikai.
Account verification
During registration, all members are required to verify their age. Nomikai uses government-issued photo identification to confirm you meet the minimum age requirement before granting access to purchase alcohol.
Accepted identification
We accept the following forms of government-issued photo ID: Ontario driver's licence, Canadian passport, Ontario photo card, Permanent Resident card, or any other valid government-issued photo identification showing date of birth.
Delivery verification
In addition to account-level verification, all deliveries require a signature from a person aged 19 or older at the delivery address. The delivery driver will request valid photo identification. Orders cannot be left unattended or signed for by a minor.
Third-party orders
If you are purchasing a gift, the recipient must also be 19 years or older. Valid photo identification will be required from the person receiving the delivery, regardless of who placed the order.
False identification
Providing false identification or misrepresenting your age is a violation of Ontario law and the Liquor Licence and Control Act, 2019. Accounts found to have provided fraudulent identification will be permanently suspended.
Age requirements reflect Ontario law as administered by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO). The minimum legal drinking age varies by province and will be reflected accordingly as Nomikai expands.
